John McAfee’s Secret Hideout Discovered to Be in Spain

John McAfee, the creator of McAfee Antivirus software, was discovered dead in his prison cell in Barcelona a few weeks ago. Today, the paranoid business tycoon’s secret hideout has been unearthed by the investigation team to be a ghost hotel in Spain. The Spanish hotel is a Bitcoin mining farm in disguise owned by a Russian cryptocurrency expert. The 75-year-old cybersecurity guru used to lie about his current location by sending out cryptic messages that contained addresses of various countries like Norway and Belarus. However, according to the reports of El Confidencial, the cyber departments conducted an in-depth analysis of his messages and images and tracked him down to his actual address of a shady hotel in Catalonia.

The web sleuths took note of numerous clues like images of Spanish products and beaches in his photographs. They could trace his location to Daurada Park Hotel, a ghost hotel where nobody answers the phone and no one accepts reservation requests. The hotel caught the attention of the local authorities when it set up a gigantic laser machine pointing to the sky at the terrace soon after a Russian businessman acquired ownership of the hotel. Reports of a subsequent police raid revealed that the hotel was operating 24×7 as a Bitcoin mining farm. The local police officials reported discovering a large number of mining machines in the garage and basement of the hotel that were operating 24×7 to mine Bitcoin.

Shocked by the discovery of his Spanish hideout, McAfee tweeted that he had only been visiting Catalonia for a few days. However, the investigation department revealed that McAfee had been living in Catalonia for almost a year to evade taxation liabilities in the United States.
